There are several types of interview:
· One to one
· Panel
· Telephone Interviews
· Assessment Centre
Regardless of the format of interview, interviewers will have 2 clear objectives:
· To fill their vacancy as soon as possible
· To identify the most outstanding candidate
The interview and any tests or assessments will therefore be looking to satisfy three key areas:
· Can you do the job?
· Will you do the job?
· Will you fit in?
Remember to share control and responsibility for the meeting, do not just sit there and be done unto! It should be a two way process and an opportunity for both parties to discover more about each other.
